Year 2 Raise Grievance Process Information

Nov 12, 2025 | News

This blog post answers to frequently asked questions about the Comparable Experience Review (CER) process and Year 2 raises, as well as new information on the dispute process and raise notification schedule.

Refer to a previous blog post for information on how to verify that your Year 2 step is correct.

If you plan to join the Year 2 Pay Grievanceplease do so by December 1st.

  1. If you submitted a CER claim by the July 31st deadline, and received a HRC ticket number, you will receive a letter from HR with information regarding your adjusted step. This adjusted step placement does not include the Year 2 step increase.
  2. If you submitted a CER claim by the July 31st deadline and have not received a letter from HR about your CER adjusted step, don’t panic. It will come eventually.
  3. Campus HR is still reviewing CER claims submitted by Campus employees. They are proceeding department by department, and they only started contacting Campus employees about their adjusted step yesterday. It is a gradual notification process, with an uncertain timeline, so if you have not heard anything yet, don’t panic.
  4. However, if you submitted a CER claim by the July 31st deadline and do not receive a letter from HR with your adjusted step by November 14th, please write to office@ummap6739.org, and we will ask Compensation to investigate.
  5. If you disagree with your CER adjusted step and Year 2 raise, please fill out the UMMAP Year 2 Pay Grievance form. We will use a Class Action grievance to settle these disputes. The deadline to fill out the form is December 1st, 2025. We will not accept requests past this date.
  6. All requests to join the UMMAP Year 2 Pay Grievance will be internally reviewed by union leadership and staff. The team reviewing the requests will evaluate whether your CER adjustment / Year 2 step placement was done incorrectly in violation of the contract. Everyone who submits a request will receive a follow-up email indicating whether their case has merit and will be included in the grievance or has no merit and will not be included in the grievance. We ask for patience in advance as we evaluate each request.
  7. All employees will receive an email from HR with information about their Year 2 step placement. (The CER adjustment process is only for those who submitted a CER claim.) We have been told that HR will send the Year 2 step email on November 24, 2025. We will notify everyone if we are provided a different date.
  8. Everyone will receive a raise in Year 2, regardless if you went through the CER process. If you are on Step 30 in Year 1, you will receive a 3% increase. Everyone else will increase at minimum 1 step on the scale, which is a 4.25% raise.
  9. Remember to use the Year 2 Pay Charts when looking up your new pay rate. You can look up your Pay Grade for your job title on this page.
  10. The contract says that the Year 2 raise takes effect “the first pay period beginning on or after November 1, 2025.” This means the Year 2 pay rate will show up in the November 28th paycheck for biweekly employees and November 30th paycheck for monthly employees.

If you need help verifying your CER adjustment and/or Year 2 raise, please contact your steward or bargaining unit chair. The directory is available on our website.
